Why mulching, not a dozer and a burn pile

A bulldozer scrapes brush into piles and leaves you with torn soil, a stump field, and a burn pile that needs a permit, a windless day, and a lot of patience. Then you're paying to haul the piles off or waiting months for a burn window. Mastication grinds everything in place into a chip mulch that protects the soil, holds moisture, and breaks down into the ground over time. No piles. No hauling. No dump fees. Tight sites and soft ground

Our tracked machine runs low ground pressure and fits where a wheeled loader can't. It handles slopes, works soft or wet ground without rutting, and threads between the trees you want to keep. On a build site we can clear to the exact footprint and leave the rest of the lot intact. That precision is the difference between land clearing and land wrecking, and it's why owners who care about their property call a mulcher instead of a dozer. How big of an area can you clear in a day?

It depends on how thick the growth is and how the ground lies, but a forestry mulcher covers a lot of ground fast. Light brush might run one to three acres in a day; dense, mature growth with lots of standing wood runs slower. We'll give you a realistic day count at the walk-through, not a guess over the phone.

What size material can the mulcher handle?

The machine eats brush, saplings, and standing trees up to roughly 8 to 10 inches across without much trouble, and it'll take bigger stems more slowly. Truly large-diameter timber is usually better dropped and handled separately, and we'll tell you where that line falls on your property. Most overgrown lots and fence lines are entirely in the machine's wheelhouse.

Do you leave stumps?

Mastication grinds material at or near ground level, so you're left with a low, mulched surface rather than a field of cut stumps. It's not the same as full stump grinding for a build pad that needs to be dead flat, but for reclaiming land, fence lines, and access it leaves ground you can actually use and walk.

Can you clear a building lot without wrecking the whole parcel?

That's a strength of the tracked machine. We can clear to a defined footprint or driveway line and leave the rest of the lot, and its trees, intact. No wide dozer scrape, no torn soil across ground you wanted to keep. You get the pad or the access you need and the character of the land stays.

How soon can you get out to look?

Usually within a few days for the walk-through, and we quote on the spot or shortly after. Scheduling the actual work depends on the season and the queue, since winter and early spring book up fast on the Front Range, but clearing jobs without a fire-season deadline often fit in sooner than mitigation work.
